Agricola Dellavalle is a small family-run business.
The Dellavalle family already lived in the small village of Camino in the middle of the 19th century, devoting themselves to agriculture and vine growing.
The tradition was interrupted in the last decades of the 20th century, when the family moved to the city. It was in 2006 that Daniele Dellavalle, Agronomist, Specialist in Viticulture and Oenology, decided to go back to Camino and founded the agricultural company “Agricola Dellavalle”, planting new vineyards both on family land and on recently acquired plots. In 2021 the second generation of winemakers joined the company, with Alessandro, just graduated in Viticulture and Oenology.
The first plantings of Barbera, Pinot Noir and Syrah date back to 2007; in the following years other vineyards of Barbera, Merlot, Dolcetto, Grignolino for the reds, Baratuciat, Erbaluce, Malvasia Moscata, Nascetta and white Sauvignon for the whites were added. Currently, the company has about six hectares of vineyards.
The winery, built next to the family house, combines the traditional style of rural construction with cutting edge technology and modern winemaking equipment. House and cellar are heated using geothermal energy combined with a heat pump, which is powered by electricity produced by photovoltaic panels. The dispersion of heat in the cold months and the excess heating of the sun in the hot months are reduced to a minimum, thanks to careful insulation of the premises; with these measures, Agricola Dellavalle manages to limit its CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, contributing in its own small way to a “greener” future. At the center of its objectives, Agricola Dellavalle places the production of high quality grapes with full respect for nature, in the conviction that the future of us all is linked to the protection of the natural environment and that only by paying the utmost attention to every aspect of the production process can we obtain excellent grapes and that only from excellent grapes can we obtain great wines.
In order to increase the efforts made in the search for the best quality obtained with the lowest impact on the environment, since 2020 the winery has been working according to organic protocols for the production of wine, being currently in a phase of conversion of vineyards which will end in a couple of years. The 2023 vintage will be the first vintage to be certified organic.
The great care of every aspect of the production process, from the vineyard to the bottle, with the aim of preserving intact in the wine the original characteristics of the grapes, together with the undoubted vocation for quality of our territory, allows us to obtain great wines, with a strong personality, pleasant and balanced.
